(More customer reviews)I almost don't believe this myself, but I have really experienced having my after dinner appetite suppressed.
If you go to Designer's website you'll find the technical and scientific information on how this Designer Whey Weight Control Protein Blend works which seems logical.
I eat a smaller size dinner and then drink one and sometimes only one half scoop an hour or two after dinner and an hour or two before going to bed. I don't feel hungry afterwards and even when I get up in the morning.
Just adding even a half scoop with breakfast and lunch really helps satisfy my appetite during the day.
Time will tell about how much lean body mass (muscle) I will add. It is suggested to have some after you complete excising to help build your lean body mass.
Additionally, it tastes good (perhaps not great) too!

(More customer reviews)I use all the products in the Super-C series and so I will give a review of them all.
Of all the variants, the best tasting are Bone & Joint, Immunize and Energy. Slender taste okay and Sleep is not that great.
BUT
They all appear to have the effect they promise - which is far more than one can say about many of the "functional beverages" one can purchase.
Although not that great in taste (in my subjective opinion), SLEEP has a really good effect and I could feel that it made me more able to fall asleep. That is quite significant as I suffer from insomnia very often.
BONE&JOINT - which tastes GREAT - actually made my otherwise protesting knees feel good again if I drank the mix about 8-10 hours before heading for the gym.
ENERGY too is effective, although the effect is just as subtle and unobtrusive as it promises. This is good unless you want a "burn hot but burn fast" effect which tend to result in a drastic drop in energy one's you settle down again.
As for IMMUNIZE and SLENDER there effects are supposed to occur much more "in the background" - supporting processes in the body without changing them in any way that causes a direct, tangible and short-term effect one can feel. But looking at the ingredients it would seem that they do what they are supposed to.
A note should be added to those watching calories, as it is easy to miss the fact that SLENDER actually do contain calories while the others do not (per serving, that is).
Also, and this is not so much critique (perhaps constructive) as suggestion to the producer, it would be good if the nutritional information listed the quantities of the vitamins, minerals and other effective ingredients instead of just the percentage of suggested daily value. It is difficult for people who for some reason try to calculate daily intake of such ingredients, when it does not say how much of them are in each serving.
But this is a great series of drink mixes. Mixes easily, does what it says, tastes great (except for one, in my opinion) and contains nothing one can feel guilty about

Anything that is very sweet will cause a person to feel much more hunger later. Plus, do a search for "High Fructose Corn Syrup" to find out if it is good for you.

Wow! Again, anything that is high in carbs and low in protein will cause a person to feel much more hungry later!!!! The Opposite of what you want when you are dieting.
These are tasty bars. Much more like a candy bar in flavor than a granola bar, but apart from the fact that they are tiny, I do not "get" the name "Slim"fast. ANY mini size regular candy bar would do exactly the same thing. And that's why I gave them 1 Star!!
Even better to find any good protein bar made with ingredients that are a lot more nutritious for the human body. Any bar that is high in protein and/or fiber, and low in carbs and sugars would curb the hunger far longer than these ever could...
For Example, MY Personal Favorite Protein Bar happens to be Pure Protein Bars. I am NOT making any money telling you this (wish I could). I only prefer Pure Protein bars because they do NOT have calcium caseinate protein, which my digestion has never handled very well...

(More customer reviews)The fact that this product is sweetened with Xylitol, which is a sugar alcohol, could cause problems for many people, including me. Sugar alcohols can cause painful gas and adominal upset. Since Joran Rubin is very much into solving intestinal problems for people with his Primal Defense (a wonderful product) it surprised me you would use a sugar alcohol in any of his products.
Plus this is not meant to be a meal replacement shake, it is a meal supplement. I believe it says that you should take it before or in between meals to make you less hungry, so you eat less. After I drank one of these I felt just as hungry as before. I like the Garden of Life supplements, but was very disappointed in this one. It made me wonder if it was designed by the same people. I threw two big jars of this stuff out.
Also Garden of Life is proud of the product "Goatein" which is protein powder that comes from goat's milk. Here is what they say about Goatein.

Luckily there were not frequent unpleasant trips to the bathroom. I will say however that it did curb my appetite which was a plus. The price wasn't high so I was not too upset about the lack of results. My suggestion would be to skip this product and go to a health food store and buy the detox teas or the overnight stimulant teas like "smooth moves". Those are much cheaper and would probably have the same if not better effects for you.

Maybe it's just the Casein, but I've come to expect really much better tastes from Cytosport's products. I think I'll switch back to good old chocolate flavor from Optimum Nutrition after this.

(More customer reviews)I have been a wine lover for many years. I can drink quite a bit more than you average guy. It is not out of the question to drink 8-10 glasses of wine in a day. I always drink at night after work and never had any negative effects on the job as I can function fine the next day. The problem came a year ago when in a routine physical my doc did blood tests and my liver function tests showed VERY elevated levels...like over 3-4 times what they should be. I didn't pay heed much but did taper my drinking for awhile.

I took another liver function test and they were all sky high. He asked me to reduce my drinking and return in 2 1/2 weeks to repeat the tests. I immediately researched fatty liver and started to find that this product had a lot of buzz on the internet. I ordered it priority overnight shipping and I also went to Trader Joe's and bought Milk Thistle. I took the recommended dose for the next 2 1/2 weeks and returned to get my blood tested again. My liver enzymes were all down significantly in just 2 weeks! To make it more amazing I did reduce my drinking some but was still drinking 4-6 a day. When my doctors and the nurses told me that this was something they have never seen in patients that fast when they stopped drinking. They said "I don't know what you are doing, but keep doing it!" That was enough for me. I continued to take these as well as 1000 mg of milk thistle a day since and I can not believe how much better I feel. I still struggle to moderate drinking but this product clearly made me feel better by helping my liver detoxify my system. I definitely recommend this for any reason you have to think your liver function is compromised from medications or other toxins we all put in our bodies!

Doing the kegels correctly- I thought I was doing them before, but after using this product, I realize I wasn't- you can FEEL the difference, when I first started, I could only hold one for a count of 3, now i can hold for a count of 20
Longer orgasms- Thats right, ladies! After a few weeks of use, orgasms now last a long time, at least three times as long as before- to the point of having to stop them. This probably should be the first Pro....
Increased vaginal control- My husband enjoys this Pro
Increased urinary control- Marked increase in control of bladder (no longer peeing when i laugh hard, some sneezes, though)
Cons
Time consuming- This is not quick, to do the reccommended 3 sets of 20 "reps" with a ten second hold for each one, takes a lot of time, 15- 20 min. I have been doing only 40, because they reccommend doing it nighly untill you achieve the desired results, and then 3x a week to maintain it. 60 justs takes too long to do every night, I'd probably skip it often if I did the whole "workout"
Not complete control- I still have a bit of peeing when i sneeze, so its not a "cure all" but it is definitely better.
In all- great product, pros outweigh the cons, worth the money, effort, and time. The only thing that keeps it from getting 5 stars is the time reccommended, and the complete bladder control ( wich it claims) However, its only been 1 month, so its possible it will get better
