Enzymes changed my son's life, so naturally my husband and my lives! That book was the first time I'd ever heard of using enzymes to help with Asperger's/autistic "idiosyncracies." You know what I'm talkin' about!!! The book's explanation for why they help makes sense. Long story short: it seems with autism, there is a common "leaky gut" syndrome. I don't know about your kid, but mine wants a lot of wheat and dairy (also very common with autism/Asperger's), the very things that are not good for him. He can't digest them very well. So undigested wheat and dairy proteins leak into the system, where they don't belong whatsoever. They end up in places they have no right to be. Like the brain! The gluten/caseine wandering molecules wreak havoc neurologically. So enzymes targeted at gluten/caseine proteins help digest the offending molecules, before they can escape the gut, and get into mischief.
When my son started taking enzymes, his eye contact became better within days (as the book said it might). It was actually weird to look into his eyes - I was so unused to it. Beautiful eyes!!! He started getting much more socially adept, interactive. Happy. "The Happy Child Effect", as the book terms it. His terrible gastric problems, which were getting worse and worse, and keeping out of school more and more, disappeared very quicly. No more gas. No more cramping so bad he couldn't stand up straight. His grades went up, of course, since he could go to school! I can not put him on a GFCF diet for many reasons. I wish I could, I think he'd do even better. But for anyone who also can't go so far as that diet, enzymes will probably help out immensely anyway.
I started taking them myself and my digestion has REALLY improved! Apparently, they also reduce inflammation because the body isn't fighting what it perceives as invaders - the gluten/caseine molecules that leak into the system. Inflammation is implicated in a whole host of problems: heart disease, auto-immune problems, to name a couple.
Can't say enough about enzymes . . . for everybody! And this brand is really wonderful. The website has a host of information.

There is still the giddy loving feeling you get when you take IRs and the focus is just like both adderall types. It gives enough focus to get the job done without being overbearing. In my opinion, adderall closes the 1000's of pipelines of thought channels and leaves you with one channel of focus, which can be very intense. Adderllin does the same thing but has more of a balanced focus. If adderall gives you social anxiety, this supplement may be better for you because it is definitely more comfortable to carry on a conversation. CTD Labs Aniracetam, 0.15-Pound Review

(More customer reviews)The first time I took Aniracetam was extremely memorable. I took one 750mg capsule with 6 NOW Lecithin Triple Strengths (about 2.25g choline total). I had heard that Aniracetam has much more noticeable effects than Piracetam, and so I was expecting some sort of BAM. The BAM did come, but in a much different way than I expected.
I browsed the web for about an hour and a half waiting for the effects, which didn't seem to come. Then my roommate began to be incredibly annoying so I got my stuff together and left for the library to get some work done. It was deep twilight and when I stepped outside and looked at the sky I was immediately overcome by brief feeling of "where the hell am I?" The sky was a deep and majestic royal blue, of a vividness that was totally alien to me. It was truly awe-inspiring. Only then did I notice that everything else looked a bit sharper, although the sky was definitely the most changed (with red-brick buildings getting an honorable mention too). It was amazing, and I still go and gape at that sky whenever I'm on Aniracetam after sunset.
Also, Aniracetam kind of deletes boredom. Focusing on anything becomes easy. I always take one before Intro to Economics, which is a painful bore-fest otherwise. Piracetam helps too, but I've found Aniracetam to be better in this regard.
One caveat: when I work out after taking Aniracetam, I notice that I'm weaker and get tired more easily. Perhaps this has something to do with increasing nerve sensitivity rather than actually making me weaker. Who knows.
CTD Labs has the best prices for nootropics. I'd love to try a move expensive brand sometime, but they're literally twice as expensive as this stuff, and this stuff works.
