(More customer reviews)I was introduced to A-F Betafood about 20 years ago by a chiropractor in California. A buddy of mine and I took the Amtrak from Michigan to California. During the train ride, I was experiencing major bloating after eating meals. As a regular user of chiropractic, I visited a chiropractor after 2 1/2 days on the train. I mentioned the bloating and he did some applied kinesiology to muscle test my abdomen. He stated that I had a "metabolic" gall bladder, a condition probably brought on by eating too many fats and greasy foods. He gave me the A-F Betafood and suggested I avoid hydrogenated oils, coffee, chocolate and dairy products for awhile. Within a few days, I was doing much better after eating. I have had a number of gall bladder issues since then, when I don't watch my diet and this supplement has been very helpful in treating them. I take a maintenance dosage now, so that I can occasionally eat the "junk" that I crave.

Betafood consists of the water-soluble portion of red beet leaves. Beets are a good source of betaine, a substance recognized for its role in both liver and gallbladder health. The betaine in Betafood has been shown to be an effective lipotrophic agent, promoting the transportation and use of fats. Betaine helps support healthy liver and gall bladder function.
