(More customer reviews)My friend, who works at a hospital as a Physical Therapist, first recommended this to me. She is a triathlete and climber. When we do our 30-mile, 2500-ft-climb rides, she does better than half the guys on the team. What I am saying is that she takes care of her body and knows her stuff when it comes to nutrients.
I take a couple tablets prior to my workouts, which are pretty intense (for example 3 sets of 35 pullups).
The product description does a pretty good job of describing how Glutamine helps your body during entensive workouts. Here's a description from the Oncology Encyclopedia:
Glutamine is the most abundant free amino acid in the human body and, in addition to its role as a component of protein, serves a variety of functions in the body. It is a non-essential amino acid because it is made by body cells. In addition most dietary protein contains ample amounts of glutamine and healthy people usually obtain all the additional glutamine that they need in their diet.

Glutamine has recently been the focus of much scientific interest. A growing body of evidence suggests that during certain stressful times, the body may require more glutamine than it can produce. Under these circumstances Glutamine may be considered a "conditionally essential" amino acid.Glutamine is involved in maintaining a positive nitrogen balance (an anabolic state) and also aids rapidly growing cells (immune system hymphocytes and intestinal cell enterocytes). In addition, Glutamine is a regulator of acid-base balance and a nitrogen transporter.* Picture may be of different size or flavor
