(More customer reviews)I've tried a lot of protein bars over the last two years. Some of them have been pretty good, but more often than not they'll be extremely chewy and have the same bland chocolate taste. It got to the point where I couldn't tell if I was eating anything new, or if they all just tasted this way. But good god, this Big 100 Colossal Toasted Almond...this is a special treat. I could see myself eating nothing but these for days at a time. Not only are you getting an absurd amount of protein in a bar, but it tastes absolutely incredible. I just had one of these for the first time a minute ago for a quick snack before my usual nightly routine, and I wasn't expecting much. But after the first bite, I downed this thing in no time. You know how in commercials when someone eats a product that tastes good, and they overreact, acting as if the food is giving them the hottest massage while Barry White plays in the background? That's the same reaction I had. These suckers are -delicious-.

(More customer reviews)This easily is my favorite flavor of the Kashi bars-- don't knock them all until you've tried this one.
Based on the sugar and fat content, this isn't a completely "sin-free" snack, but it works for me. I regularly get cravings for sweets at around 2:30, and with a vending machine full of candy bars right down the hall, often end up eating something awful and then feel unfulfilled (and guilty) a half hour later. With the Kashi bars, I have a slightly healthier alternative that fills me with enough fiber and protein to feel staisfied until dinner; but there's enough decadence that my candy cravings subside without a sugar crash. I'm not a dieter and wouldn't know about "meal replacement bars" but this has been the best junk food substitute I've found.
