This product is wonderful for families!!! It is an organic spaghetti with very high fiber. Usually, wheat pasta seems "gummy" to my family, but this spaghetti is delicious. Actually, all of their pastas are amazing!! My kids are very picky eaters and they love it. I buy it in bulk! (Also, the tomato basil spaghetti is incredible too.) Every time I serve it to guests, they ask where to buy it. Anyway, I recommend it to moms who are looking for an organic product with an awesome taste.

Hodgson Mill Whole Wheat Wide Egg Noodles, 12-Ounce Packages (Pack of 12) Review

Hodgson Mill Whole Wheat Wide Egg Noodles, 12-Ounce Packages (Pack of 12)

I was nostalgic for old-fashioned egg noodle dishes (like casseroles, kugels, and noodles w/ farmer cheese and pepper) but wanted them a little healthier. I don't think that anyone else makes this anymore, but that's o.k. because these are yummy. A healthy trick I've learned is to get a close approximation (trial & error) of how much water the noodles absorb while cooking, then after bringing just that amount of water to a boil, cook the noodles covered on the lowest possible heat occasionally freeing them from the bottom w/ a wooden spatula. That way all B-vitamins and minerals stays in the noodles instead of being lost in the water. It takes a bit of practice not to end up w/ a solid block of noodles. Adding a little oil or butter halfway through cooking helps.
Anyway, whether you cook them like this or using the standard directions, they're delicious and hold together better than some other whole wheat noodles I've tried in the past.

Dreamfields Rotini 13.25 OZ Review

Dreamfields Rotini 13.25 OZ
Average Reviews:

Who better than a diabetic to vouch for this product? Unlike most low-carbohydrate dieters, I test my blood sugar at least four times a day. I know how foods affect me. I have very tight control on my blood sugar; my readings are very predictable. Because of that, I know when foods have hidden carbohydrates in them.
I experimented last year with Dreamfields. I paired one serving size of the spaghetti with an olive oil and garlic sauce and topped the dish with some Parmesan cheese. Because some diabetics complain of delayed spikes, I tested every hour for four hours just to make sure. Pre-meal: 69; 1 Hour: 62; 2 Hour: 73; 3 Hour: 82; 4 Hour: 69. As you can see, I returned to pre-meal levels by four hours and my third-hour reading was the highest, but the number wasn't high in itself. I have since eaten Dreamfields on two other occasions with similar results.
I think the key is restricting your portion size to that listed on the box. Cook al dente, as overcooking can weaken the protective coating that blocks the carbohydrates. Be mindful of the sauces you're using. Jarred tomato sauce is just full of sugar. I buy a jarred Alfredo that only has 1 gram of carbohydrates per serving. Pesto and olive-oil sauces are good options, too. Add a protein to your dish; that helps.
As far as taste goes: amazing. Tastes exactly like real pasta. No one in my family knew that it wasn't the 'real' stuff. I love that Dreamfields makes more than just spaghetti. I actually got to enjoy macaroni salad at my last family gathering thanks to Dreamfields.

Dreamfields Healthy Low Carb Angel Hair Pasta 13.25 oz. box Review

Dreamfields Healthy Low Carb Angel Hair Pasta 13.25 oz. box

Speaking as someone who has to watch her carb intake carefully, I was not keen on trying yet another item that claimed to be low-carb and good-tasting. So often the two do not go together, especially when dealing with the traditional, more "carby" foods such as pasta, bread, rice, etc.
Dreamfields is a happy exception. This is not to say you can cook up a whole box and eat it all at once (those who have to watch carb intake will still need to do some portion control), but you can actually have a large scoop of delicious hot pasta alone or in your culinary creations and not blow your carb allowance. And this is not some flimsy, dissolving, cardboard-tasting pasta; it cooks up hearty and substantial. When you eat it, it fills up that "I am so hungry for carbs, I could eat a ton of potatoes" need. Satisfying, delicious, filling, and easier on the insulin levels than regular pasta. I love it!

Heartland 100% Whole Wheat Angel Hair, 13.25-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 20) Review

Heartland 100% Whole Wheat Angel Hair, 13.25-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 20)
Average Reviews:

This pasta has a unique flavor, and more subtle notes than processed wheat. Unfortunately, you have to try it to decide for yourselves, as tastes are very personal preferences. You can get a sample of the difference by trying whole grain or whole wheat bread versus regular white bread.
Don't confuse whole grain with whole wheat, they are not the same and have slightly different tastes. Whole grain tends to be sweeter and contains the same overall fiber and health benefits. Whole grain is an amalgam of different grains: rice, oats, wheat, etc., using all the portions of the grain, whereas whole wheat is just 100% of the whole wheat grain. Heartland sells both so you can try each too. Either whole grain product holds their body more al dente and require a slightly longer cooking time. I like them both with whole wheat seemingly less sweet. The angel hair variety is notable as the fiber really makes it easier to make it al dente [ as its thinner, its more sensitive to over cooking].

Not sure how to review the pasta as I order for my wife and son's and every time I try to cook some it is normally gone. I got it originally becuase my wife is on Weight Watchers and my son's were interested in the hight fiber. So far from the leftovers they have left me the pasta is very tastful. We have gotten the sampler but will buy something different next time and I'll have it delivered at work instead of home and maybe I will be able to try it.

Put pasta back in your diet with FiberGourmet! Our pasta has the same color, taste, and texture as standard pasta, but 40% fewer calories! It also provides an unprecedented 18 grams of fiber per serving, much more than whole wheat pasta (which has a mere 5g), or anyone else on the market for the matter - and it's backed up by actual lab analysis. The firm, al-dente texture of these pastas is a favorite around our office, where we have some almost everyday for lunch. You really won't be able to tell it apart from standard pasta!

FiberGourmet Light Spaghetti, 8-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6) Review

FiberGourmet Light Spaghetti, 8-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Okay, I first came across the "Fiber Gourmet" brand from a vague Google search for "low calorie pasta". I'd previously bought into the shirataki noodle craze and while I admit--calorically speaking--shirataki have EVERYTHING else on the planet beat hands down, I quickly tired of the stuff mainly because I knew I would have to chew the heck out of it before swallowing, lest It Come Out Looking the Same Way It Went In ('nuff said there) and for the cost of each bag (the store brand I found in the tofu aisle was roughly $2.50 ea and the Miracle Noodle brand from online is essentially the same for 8-9 oz bag) my diet was getting pretty expensive eating 2bags a day 4 days a week. I ate shirataki by the bag, after all...
So when I happened across the Fiber Gourmet website, I simply bookmarked it and went along my way. Finally, after a couple more weeks of laboriously chewing shirataki, I decided to give it a whirl and ordered from the official website. I have to admit, the first time I tried the Light Spaghetti pasta I wasn't exactly bowled over and that was because I was actually mixing the Fiber Gourmet noodles with another, lower sodium (but still 210cal/srvg) noodle brand and honestly wasn't seeing much of a difference--on the scale or satiety-wise. However, in the past couple weeks I went back to my case of 6 boxes and tried them again, this time wondering why in the world I didn't like them first time! I stopped mixing them with the other noodle and most times have either exactly the 56g serving size or 84g (1.5 srvg) and mix it with veggies, spices and low-sodium/calorie glazes (Captain Rodney's Sweet & Spicy Pepper Glaze being my fav). For a treat I'll throw in a couple ounces of Morning Star Farms fake chik'n strips.
The best part about the Light Spaghetti is how absolutely filling they are. I've taken to having the above-described dish for lunch and honestly I don't feel hungry again until several hours later. 18g of fiber is just ridiculous (per serving) but I'm so glad it's there because you really don't need much of the noodles to get satisfied. That's one thing these have over the shirataki. Another is the whole "chewing element"; I found I don't have to count 32 chews (literally; I actually did this w/ the shirataki) before swallowing. Fiber Gourmet also cooks dang close to legit pasta. I found that really leaving them on the stove boiling for a while (over 20mins) is best and you can tell from sight when they're ready. I haven't managed to overcook this pasta yet.
But above all the pros, I have to say that the fact they fill you up is the best. I'm on a low calorie diet so having that extra 70 cals/serving these spare you really helps. My faux-lo mein:) meal described above is around 250-395 cals depending on whether I add any meat to the pasta. Since I don't need an afternoon snack on the days I eat Fiber Gourmet for lunch, I can save another 100-150 there for dinner.
I wouldn't recommend having these more than once a day or having more than twice the serving size on account of how much fiber is in a serving but so far I've had no intestinal issues whatsoever (TMI?). Oh! And even though I bought my first case from the Fiber Gourmet website I'd highly recommend buying them here from Amazon--when I saw the case for $16.92 WITH PRIME S/H I was sold and ordered immediately so I won't have to go even a day w/o these. I paid about $20 for the case from FG's site and then about $7-10s/h on top of that so the deal is DEFINITELY here. Since I've incorporated the FG pasta into my diet I've dropped almost 3lbs in 10 days whereas shirataki 4 days a week had me at a statistical standstill. I highly recommend FG's pasta if you want to taste noodles almost exactly like the real thing and can't stand the thought of life w/o a past dish like I can't:)
