I had to return the product because it was not giving a consistent and accurate readings.
This scale has internal hysterises by up to +/-5 lbs. Every time you place the same weight on it, you would read a different reading.
I excercised the "auto tare" procedure as it mentioned in the owner's manual, but it did not correct the problem. This product's strain gauge may be sensitive to the changes in ambient temperature and therefore subject to drift. It is known to most scales that there is a small inherent hysterises because of the nature of every strain gauge, but it should be compensated via software or manually. This product was not equipped to do that.
I think I should go back to the analog scales with manual adjust for the "tare" function

(More customer reviews)I'm nearsighted, so with conventional scales I have to put on my glasses to view my weight. The idea of being able to hold the display in my hand was appealing, hence the reason I bought this. It arrived less than a week after ordering in good condition.
This product is made in China, and the english translation in the users guide could be better. Nonetheless, it was relatively easy to set up, with the exception of the units of measure. It came set to display weights in metric units (Kg), and nowhere do the instructions tell you how to change that. Somehow I managed to change the display into lbs by fiddling with the memory settings, but I have no idea how I managed to make the change!
The base unit takes a 9 volt battery (included). The hand held display takes two AAA batteries (also included). The display can be used either attached to the base, held in your hand, or mounted on a wall (no wall mounting hardware is included). There are 10 memories, allowing 10 different people to store their age, sex, and height information for body fat and hydration percentages. Since I am the only one using this scale, and am not interested in body fat and hydration, I cannot comment on these features. As indicated above, however, entering data into the memory I am using seemed to change the display from metric to english units.
The scale is easy to use - i prefer holding the display in my hand. To use, I press a button on the display, then stand on the scale. After perhaps 10 seconds your weight is displayed - different weights are displayed until the scale determines the correct number, then that number is locked in.
Overall, I am very happy with this scale. No longer do I have to remember to put on my glasses before being able to read my weight. Time will tell how good battery life is. I am giving this a 4 star rating - the lack of clear instructions is the reason for not giving thsi 5 stars.

(More customer reviews)This scale is flat-out terrible! There is a five star review on here that says that you just have to wait for the scale to "zero out" before stepping on it. Unfortunately, half the time the scale won't zero out and will just drop to an arbitrary number before doing its stupid "close out to error" mode. It's extremely frustrating- especially if you don't want to spend 5 minutes weighing yourself and then leave wondering whether the correct weight was given (it likes to vary- I just weighed myself and had a variance of EIGHT POUNDS). Oh- and you supposedly can calibrate the scale by applying pressure and allowing it to cycle through its modes- believe me this never works and you always get an error message. PLEASE PLEASE save yourself the frustration and don't buy this horrible product!
