(More customer reviews)Tastes just like the larger batches of pudding that you can buy boxes of mix to make, but you end up with an amount that's suited to being eaten by one person.
It's also nice to have the option of what kind of milk you want to use to adjust the taste or nutrition a little. Fair warning, though, the packaging says that it might not set properly if you try to use soy milk (I haven't tried that myself).
The process of making it is extremely simple. You get half a cup of milk in a container, you pour the powdered mix in, and then stir for a minute to a minute and a half until the powder all dissolves. After that, it's just a matter of waiting for it to set (which only takes a few minutes). I put it in the fridge during this process because I prefer mine cold, but you don't have to do that.
For people who want to have pudding in the most convenient possible form, you're still better off buying the single serving pre-made pudding cups that are available. This is more suitable for people who want to be able to make a small amount for a treat from time to time, without keeping the ready to eat pudding cups around. It could also be good for people who want a little more control over what kind of dairy product goes into their pudding (how much fat is in the milk, or if you feel strongly about organic or antibiotic free milk, maybe switch to goat's milk, etc).
Most people who want Jell-o pudding are probably still going to be better served by either the larger boxes or the single serve cups of pudding. For the people who do want to be able to mix just one serving on the odd occasion, or control slightly more of the ingredients without going to the point of making pudding from scratch, this works nicely.
