Not enough carbs to work out on but just right for lean muscle gain after a work out and for lean muscle maintenance. No need to add much of anything except essential fatty acids (good fat) and carbs (before & after a workout). I use a scoop and a half.

While initially I thought the flavor was okay, I really started to dislike it the longer I was on them. The combination of the blah chocolate flavor and the chewiness of these was getting to me. After about a month I couldn't take it anymore. I found them too unpleasant to take. I went back to my calcium pills.

(More customer reviews)The taste was better before it was reformulated, but this product is healthier. Rather than jumping out of bed to enjoy the drink, I get up, hold my breath, and gulp it down. It tastes like a slightly sweet, cold pea soup.
They took out some of the sugar, replaced some of the rice protein with yellow pea protein, so although not as tasty, it still gives energy and improves my thinking.
It is the best product I have found on the market for what it does.

First things first, I did not gain weight but that was my fault for being lazy on my daily calorie intake. Why this is the best gainer 1. 60 grams of protein 2. Has creatine 3. Low on fat 4. Serving size is reasonable (152g) 5. 81 grams of carbs!! 6. Low on sugar 7. Reasonably priced. 8. Mix-ability is decent. The only complain I have about it is that I should have gotten one with no creatine cause im trying to get off it. Also, it's not easy to find. You prob better off just ordering it online, got mine on nutrition depot.

(More customer reviews)I've since moved on to Optimum's Fitness Fiber, as it has less calories and the same amount of fiber, but this product is still excellent. I can't make any claims to fat loss, though that wasn't my goal anyway. This product has a nice flavor, and interesting texture, so it mixes in with water and milk well. I usually just added to my protein powder. Apparently this contains a certain kind of fiber which is not conducive to nutrient uptake, so the label states not to take with your multivitamins or other drugs/supplements. Helps you poop.

So then about 6 months ago I started using muscle milk, glutamine powder, Dymatize BCAA pills, and Creatine Fuel. Before I started this regimen I was maxing out on the bench at about 185 and just last week I did 245 for the first time and I have increased in pretty much every other area as well. I have also noticed that my arms look and feel much fuller, they are up to 16 inches now and I hope to continue my journey and maybe someday in the next year hit the 300 mark on bench and make good gains in other areas as well.
